In India, driving licensing is digitized through the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Parivahan Sarathi portal. For a Learner's License, most states now offer a completely 'Contactless Service' via Aadhaar authentication, allowing you to take the exam from home. Under the latest guidelines, you can also bypass the RTO permanent driving trial entirely if you complete training and obtain a certificate from a government-accredited driving training school.

Q. Can I take the Learner's License test from home in any state?
Yes! Almost all major states (including Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Karnataka) support Aadhaar-authenticated 'Contactless Services', allowing you to complete the safety tutorial and take the test at home.
Q. How long is the Learner's License valid?
A Learner's License is valid for exactly 6 months. You are legally allowed to apply for a permanent driving license after completing 30 days from the date of LL issuance.
Q. Can I skip the RTO physical driving trial for a permanent license?
Yes! Under the new MoRTH guidelines, if you successfully complete driving training at a government-accredited driving center and obtain their passing certificate, you do not need to take the practical driving trial at the RTO.
Q. What is the passing score for the online LL exam?
The exam consists of 15 multiple-choice questions on traffic signs and safety rules. You must answer at least 9 questions correctly (60%) within the 10-minute duration to pass.
