For 34 pages: Normal service at DAO is NPR 5,000, and Express service at DOP (Kathmandu) is NPR 12,000. For 66 pages: Normal service at DAO is NPR 10,000, and Express service at DOP (Kathmandu) is NPR 20,000.

Q. Can I wear contact lenses or glasses for the passport photo?

No, you must remove all glasses, contact lenses, caps, earrings, and nose rings before your live biometric photo is taken.

Q. Is NID mandatory for minor children?

No, children under 16 years of age do not need an NID number. They require a Minor Identity Card (Nabalik Parichayak Patra) issued by the DAO, along with their parents' original citizenship cards.

Q. What if I lost my old passport?

You must pay an additional lost penalty fee of NPR 5,000, submit a Police Report stating the loss of your passport, and complete the physical verification at the DAO/DOP.
